Change Management Courses

Change Management equips professionals to guide people through organisational change with confidence. It builds the skills to plan, communicate and support transitions effectively, helping organisations adapt, minimise risk and achieve successful outcomes.

What is Change Management?

Change Management is the discipline that guides how we prepare, equip and support individuals to successfully adopt change, which in turn drives organisational success, deliverables and outcomes.

Change is inevitable and for many organisations change can become a regular occurrence, particularly in the current climate in which organisations must adapt to remain competitive, evolve, or simply survive. This makes dealing with Change a high priority for many companies, and the impact it can have on ourselves, and our environment.

While all changes and all individuals are unique, there are actions we can take to influence people in their individual transitions. Change Management is gaining increasing recognition as a profession, with demand growing for qualified and experienced change practitioners, managers and leaders. Increasing numbers of organizations are recognising the value of effective change management too, with many focusing on building stronger internal capability to better facilitate increasing levels of change.

The APMG Change Management syllabus and supporting training courses reflect these four key areas, with the overall aim of supporting practitioners’ understanding of the impact of change at various levels, and equipping them with knowledge, tools and techniques to support change and to manage its impact.

Change Management is a vital and high profile remit within any business. In order for it to be effective, Change Management needs to be conducted in a strategic, timely and measurable way. This doesn’t happen by chance. If your role deals with Change Management, you’ll need the right skills, experience, support and tools to effect real and long-lasting change.

The Change Management training focuses on:

  • the nature and impact of a proposed change and the organization’s capacity and capability to undertake it.
  • The importance of clarity about the various ways in which the organization expects to benefit from the change
  • The way that stakeholders are identified and strongly connected to the change through a variety of communication practices
  • The way that change and project management practices are aligned and managed, matching them to the size and structure of the organization
  • How individuals and teams can be supported through the change by good leadership, appropriate training and great facilitation
  • Advocacy of best practice across the organization, supported by effective information gathering, relevant case studies and application of lessons learned from past change initiatives.
